Mr. Waweru was appointed to the Board on 21st April 2022 as the Chief Executive Officer of SBG Securities.

Mr. Waweru’s areas of specialization are securities brokerage, investment banking and investments.

He has held various positions in SBGS since 2012. He previously worked at Kestrel Capital (East Africa) Ltd as Head, Corporate Advisory. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial science from the University of Nairobi, a Higher Diploma in Management of Information Systems from Strathmore University, and an MBA from the University of Warwick. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Investments and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) and Chartered institute of Securities and Investment (CISI).
